I do not know about the peanut butter. I peeled it off and used my thumb nail to all those little stubborn spots. I was careful not to scratch the tank but you can't do much damage with a thumb nail. It took me maybe 20 minutes. After I used some carnuba wax to attack to gummy residue and it looked beautiful. It is crazy to think that one would leave those stupid stickers on the bike.
